X-Plane is Crashing

X-Plane typically does not stop abruptly but if it does, here are a few things to try!

  1. The most common cause of a X-Plane crash is a 3rd party plugin. These are typically installed under X-Plane -> Resources -> Plugins. If X-Plane is crashing, please first try removing all of your 3rd party plugins.
  2. If X-Plane is crashing while using one particular add-on aircraft, try testing with a default aircraft like our Cessna 172. If that resolves the issue, that aircraft is most likely the source of the problem.
  3. Outdated graphics drivers can also cause X-Plane to crash. You can find some more information on updating these here.
  4. Crashes originating from the X-Plane ATC/AI Aircraft system is a known issue in X-Plane 11. Before you report a crash to support, please try a flight with no ATC communication or AI Aircraft enabled.
